New Jersey feels the Rip Curl GromSearch Love

The varsity grom squadron, that being the 16 & under division, showed a bit more focus than their young counterparts by having their eyes on the prize. Visualizing a trip to Australia with a National GromSearch victory in California, they knew what they had to do. Young Brendan Buckley was a standout all day with go-for-broke surfing. Attempting airs, reverses and 360’s, Brendan knew he had to go all out to fend off a strong field of competitors and it paid off with the win and one step closer to his opportunity at Bell’s Beach.

Britney Hickey, girls champ

As the east coast leg of the Rip Curl GromSearch presented by Unbound Energy heads south to New Smyrna Beach, Florida a special thanks go out to all the competitors and their friends and family for making the New Jersey stop an awesome time for everyone. Shout outs to Arnette Sunglasses, Surfing Magazine, Sticky Bumps, Surf One Skateboards, and Wave Watch for their continued support of the groms.
