BILLABONG JUNIOR PRO AT KEWALO BASIN
Surfers From Around the State Compete on Oahu’s South Shore
For an Invitation to the Billabong World Junior Championships in 2007

WHAT: The Billabong Junior Pro, an event Billabong sponsors on the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) 2006 Junior World Tour in Hawaii in memory of Ronnie Burns. This circuit determines the annual Billabong Junior World Champion on the World Championship Tour (WCT). The top four placing men and top two placing for women in the event will gain an invitation to the Billabong Junior World Championships 2007.

WHEN: The contest waiting period runs August 26 to September 1 2006.

WHERE: Kewalo Basin, South Shore, Oahu, Hawaii.

WHO: The hottest male and female junior surfers in Hawaii. In order for surfers to compete in this series, they cannot turn 21 during the 2006 tour year.

FORMAT: The competition is 48 man format, and a limited entry girls division, with standard ASP 2006 Junior Series event rules.

JUDGING: The ASP 2006 judging criteria will be used by four ASP rated judges with the head judge officiating.
STATUS: This Grade 2 event is sanctioned by the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP), the organization that controls professional surfing globally.

PRIZE-MONEY: The juniors receive a total of US $12,500 in prize money.

ENTRY PROCEDURE: Completed standard ASP entry forms, available from asphi@hawaii.rr.com, to be submitted together with the entry fee ($150 for men, $50 for girls) to:
