More info from Chris Ward's incident at Mammoth Lakes

Although Chris Ward has been advised by his attorney not to discuss the charges pending against him in Mammoth Lakes, Chris does issue this statement to express his regret and to apologize to the ASP, his sponsors, his friends and his family for being involved in the recent incident in Mammoth Lakes, and for the negative publicity the incident has generated to the sport and to the tour.

Chris has entered not guilty pleas to three assault charges which have been filed against him in Mono County Superior Court. The court has scheduled a March 3, 2008, pretrial hearing in the case.

Chris’ attorney has initiated investigation and begun review of the reports in this case. While it is too early to predict the eventual outcome of the case, Mr. Ward is taking this matter very seriously and is taking steps, including alcohol counseling, to insure that he is never placed in a such a situation again. While Chris can not specifically respond to statements made by others, or to the accuracy of those statements at this time, he is hopeful that this matter will be resolved favorably for all concerned, and hopes that all involved are recovering from any injuries which they may have suffered.
