Remembering A Laguna Legend

Surfer and World Jungle Clothing founder Jack Denny passed away at the young age of 33 after battling pancreatic cancer on September 9, 1998. Denny was instrumental in the success of Gotcha clothing in the 80’s as a head designer. Denny was also responsible for the rise of the MCD and Bash before starting his own brand, World Jungle. As a surfer, Denny, had a major influence on the Laguna Beach surf scene both in and out of the water and bridged the gap between the older generation and the younger. Ten-years after his passing the Laguna tribe of surfers banded together once again to pay tribute to one of their fallen brothers.

so sorry i couldent make it to the gathering. Jack is always there in my thoughts when i am in Laguna. he would have said i was a flake and called me "pasko-shevitz" ps. my black wor-jung trunks are still hanging in there Jack..... Aloha

I used to work with Jack at World Jungle along with Macy, Greg Gwynne, Joey Santley, Dags, Slidawg, Frog, White O, Andrews, Hans, Cheesy D, Twiggy, Purdo, Omar, Bardwell, Maia, Dan the Duke, Becky, Jolly, Stevie T, Greg Hillman, and many more. Hi to Ronnie too. Jack was a great bro and I often think about him. I have had allot of great memories with the Jungle and it's crew. I hope if any of the people I mentioned read this I send you my best from Tahoe. I will look for you in Solag. I think one of the funniest things that I remember from Jack was when I first met him I was joking around with him and called him Barney. He told Macy "hey Mace tell Gus not to call me Barney ok." You had to be there. He was serious too! L8R.
