Event No. 1 of the Monster Energy/Sun Diego PRO-AM Surf Tour presented by Ezekiel

Event #1 of the Monster Energy/Sun Diego PRO-AM Surf Tour presented by Ezekiel went off down at Seaside Reef in Cardiff on September 15-16 in 2-3 foot, super rippable, glassy peaks. Almost 200 competitors came out for the first contest of the season to compete for cash, prizes, and hardware, and the level of surfing was definitely super high all weekend. Darrell Goodrum of Encinitas was ‘In the zone’ all day and dominated the Finals, claiming the $2,000 winner’s check….. and for icing on the cake also won the Sector 9 Expression Session and pocketed another $300! Shea Yates also from Encinitas, won the Ezekiel Pro Junior and took home a handy $500.
