Team Super Hits Oz

We went to Oz. Recently we went to Oz and got boss. We had fun surfing the famed SUPERbank, but we were especially keen when blasting at our own little stash of mysto beachbreaks we found. Down the coast from SUPERbank stretch endless empty beaches of squeaky soft golden sand. These beachbreaks are swell magnets. When the points are flat, these beaches are a treasure trove of hollow, rampy peaks with no fools out. And that means it’s open season for you and your set to show up and bro up. Seriously, you could post on any stretch of this coast for weeks if you wanted to, and no lifeguards or cops would tell you to split. Which means you can show up with a ghetto blaster and 40s, if you want to, and get completely surf mental. Naturally, we hit up these beachies for days on end. Now here are some pictures we took to document our sweet adventure.

Those ads are really bad. Are they selling sweaters or boards? Who is really going to buy into these Uncle Mike boards with different logos on them? Horrible.

dont be so hard on them. a good chunk of money can go a long way. chemistry surfboards has been putting real urban style graphics on awesome boards for years, but not the heavy financial backing to show everyone. The business world is tough. In the end the real companies stick around.

I agree...for having such good surfers on the trip there should have been MUCH better action photos (the quality of the photos was shhhhhhhet). Also why was Tosh on this trip? He's a Pro Skater...and not that much of a shredder on a surfboard

I heard SUPER have a couple different shapers who they got designing the blades...personally, I think the graphics they got are the sickest I've seen on surfboards I say we should keep it positive and be happy for cats doin something new and unique.

Pretty sure these boards are just regular PU...think this thing is out of blitz distribution in hb...don't think a website is up yet...but some of the boards are on their myspace. I think their concept is fresh.

I ride uncle mike boards and they work insane. I think all you hatters talking shit dont even know how to surf and your just talking bubbles, cause you think your surfers but really just kooks and probably have never used a uncle mike surfboard and if you did you probably couldint tell the difference between a good board and a bad board, so stop crying and go actually ride one!

Um is awsome, he is the coolest guy and the boards are some of the best you can buy. he would never sell out. he is a great shaper and an awesome giving person. if he shapes the super boards then they are going to be awsome, forget about all the hype, if they work they work.

Do you guys remember Spyder surfboards in the mid to late 90's? A majority of the Momentum guys rode them. Where is Spyder now? The investment money runs dry sooner or later. I give Super 3 years max. You cant expect to pay those guys all that money and stay afloat on your income from sales alone, surfboards margins are too small. Sorry, not a hater, just someone who knows business.

i think SUPER is something new to the industry. Spyder had a good team and dennis jarvis is a good shaper, but channel islands also had those bases covered. if super is really co-founded by these kids, then that's what makes it different. clay, kolohe--these kids are too good to be goin away any time soon. so if super is their thing, it'll stay with em.

Pro's don't design surfboards they just surf. I'm a shaper I know. Was just checking out "60 sec with Ben Snare." for Super Surfboards on the net. Who's Ben Snare anyway sounds like he's a shaper hater. Bad vibe here! This Super HYPE is just wrong. Something isn't super about SUPER!

I've kept up on this thing, and this is what it's about: young rippers co-found a new board label. label has a few shapers employed to collaborate with the team surfers. so that's the final product. But new label is marketed after the rippers (not the shaper), following the model of the skate industry. It all sounds pretty basic to me. But a cool concept.

Super boards are probably made in China by some guy named wang who can't surf or swim. But he can paint and work with glass and bad chemicals because theres no OSHA there. These kids are too dumb to start their own business they were paid off by Uncle Mike to do this. There are so many better shapers within 10 miles like Boysen, Wally Puha, Jason Bennet, Timmy Patterson, MB, cole, Chemistry....anyone who really surfs knows you want a board from a master shaper not designed by some surfer with an IQ of 12 and a third grade education- shaping=hydrodynamics.
